Their Serene Highnesses the Sovereign Prince and Princess Charlene, accompanied by His Serene Highness Crown Prince Jacques and Her Serene Highness Princess Gabriella, inaugurated on Saturday, May 4, 2024, the new fire and rescue boat of the Monaco Firefighters, in the presence of the highest authorities of the Principality. Monsignor Dominique-Marie David and Abbot Christian Venard, Chaplain of the Public Forces, blessed the boat moored at the port of Fontvieille. After a technical presentation, the Princely Couple and their children were able to board and witness a maneuver at sea. Subsequently, the new boat entered its home port passing under the ‘Grand Waters’, a tradition of the sea and sailors, which celebrates the beginning of an adventure for the ship and those associated with it. This marks the integration of the boat into port and maritime life. It then docked at the Yacht Club of Monaco where the unveiling of the name took place. Baptized ‘Prince Jacques’, according to the wish of His Serene Highness the Sovereign Prince, this unit will allow the Firefighters Corps to have a more performant and efficient boat.
