The Monegasque Athletics Federation is delighted to announce its partnership with HOKA, a specialist sports equipment manufacturer for running shoes. This sponsorship will take effect during the upcoming edition on February 10th and 11th and will involve the 5KM HOKA race.

AMBITIOUS GOALS

When the 5KM became an official distance of World Athletics in 2018, the Monaco Run Gramaglia’s 5KM immediately stood out as a race conducive to breaking records. Numerous achievements have been recorded since then: women’s world record in 2019 and 2021, men’s world record in 2019 and 2020, men’s European record in 2023. Therefore, it seemed evident that HOKA, which has always focused on improving performance with products designed for speed, would invest in this race and secure its naming: the 5KM HOKA. This title partnership indeed offers a crucial opportunity to strengthen its legitimacy in the world of road racing. Moreover, this is the first race of this format that HOKA supports in France.

SOME NOTABLE NAMES FROM HOKA AMONG THE ELITE OF THE RACE

In this 2024 edition of the Monaco Run Gramaglia, the goal is clear for HOKA Team athletes: break records and climb onto the podium.

Among those who will be part of the Elite field in these two races (pending the complete list), Englishman Ellis Cross, an HOKA athlete since 2016, stands out, with one of his achievements being the victory over Mo Farah. Alongside him, Jonathan Davies, the third-best British runner over 5,000 meters in 2023 (13:16.66 PB), whose Olympic ambitions are clearly stated for 2024, as well as Breton runner Simon Bédard, champion of the 2023 World University Games in the 5,000 meters and a serious contender for the European Championships and the Olympic Games in 2024.

For women, all eyes will be on the British athlete Sarah Astin, the 2023 English cross-country champion.

The Englishman Rory Leonard, who won the 10K in Bordeaux last November and is the European under-23 champion in the 10,000 meters in 2023, will also complement the talents of Team HOKA.
