The celebrations in honor of the 150th anniversary of the passing of Alessandro Manzoni continue, commemorated with a tribute by Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, the immortal writer.

A captivating journey between literature and theater, where the memorable characters from “I Promessi Sposi,” such as the bravi, don Abbondio, the innominato, Renzo, Lucia, and even Cecilia, come to life through the voice of Massimiliano Finazzer Flory. Accompanied on stage by the magnificent musical notes of Verdi, Mascagni, and Morricone, played on the 1706 Guarneri violin by Matteo Fedeli, the show offers a compelling and emotionally rich experience.

In the Principality of Monaco, the performance will take place on Tuesday, January 30, at the Théâtre des Muses, with the patronage of the Italian Embassy in the Principality of Monaco and in collaboration with the cultural association Il Teatro della Vita.

This journey through the chapters, as stated by the director and actor Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, emphasizes the value of words and textual expression, narrative structures, and reflection. This allows capturing, through live interpretation, Manzoni’s cinematic script, the movements of shots and frames, actors, and landscapes, enabling us to “see” the “Promessi Sposi.” Integrating them in the moment and later with our imagination, perhaps naive but free, festive, and educational, even in the face of the errors and horrors of history.

Admission is free, but a mandatory reservation is required to participate: info@ilteatrodellavita.org.

Since 2011, Massimiliano Finazzer Flory has directed and performed “I PROMESSI SPOSI” on four continents and in over 20 countries, across Europe, America, Asia, and Australia. In 2023, he was the artistic director of “Maggio Manzoniano,” presenting the complete reading of the work “I Promessi Sposi” at the Duomo in Milan in the presence of top authorities.
