The “Girolamo Rossi” Archaeological Civic Museum of Ventimiglia will open on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., the 26th edition of the long-running series Ventimiglia and its Territory from its Origins to the Present Day with a conference entitled “Paths of Faith in the Diocese of Ventimiglia and Sanremo”, presented by archaeologist Daniela Gandolfi, Director of the International Institute of Ligurian Studies and Curator of the MAR.
Held in the Sala Azaretti of the Museum, the event marks the beginning of a new edition of a cultural series that for over twenty-five years has been promoting the dissemination of archaeological, historical, and artistic research on Western Liguria, confirming its role as a key platform for understanding the area’s heritage and cultural identity.
Organized by the Girolamo Rossi Museum, in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the City of Ventimiglia and the Intemelia Section of the International Institute of Ligurian Studies, the 2025 edition is dedicated to the Jubilee Year and features three lectures by prominent scholars exploring the spread of Christian worship and the artistic and documentary legacy of local faith traditions.

Friday, November 7, at the Fondo Antico of the Aprosiana Library, a lecture by Prof. Fulvio Cervini (University of Florence) titled The Other Romanesque. The Construction Phases of the Cathedral in the Middle Ages;

Saturday, November 29, at the Girolamo Rossi Museum, Dr. Valentina S. Zunino, Director of the Cultural Heritage Office of the Diocese of Ventimiglia–Sanremo, will close the series with In the Sign of the Jubilee: The Statues of Christ the Redeemer. Iconographies and Devotions of the Short Century.
A journey through history, art, and spirituality, this series invites the public to rediscover the Christian roots of the Intemelia region, intertwining scholarly research, local heritage, and spiritual reflection.
