During the winter months, Antibes slows its pace and reveals itself from a more intimate perspective. Between the winter sea, the soft lights of the old town and streets that invite leisurely walks, the city becomes a true open-air cultural laboratory, guiding residents and visitors through a journey of art, performance, sport and shared memory.
The cultural calendar unfolds progressively, combining long-running exhibitions with a concentration of events in mid-February, around Valentine’s Day, when Antibes offers a particularly rich and varied programme.
From the very start of winter, visitors can immerse themselves in a series of city-wide exhibitions exploring Antibes’ past and present. Until 20 February 2026, the Municipal Archives host Fragments d’Antibes, a journey into the city’s identity through documents, images and precious testimonies. At the Albert Camus Media Library, Bouquins Câlins invites both children and adults to rediscover the pleasure of reading in a warm and welcoming atmosphere until 14 February.
Contemporary art is on display at the Transartcafé (6 rue du Dr Rostan), with an exhibition open until 28 February, while Les Arcades host two shows: Antibes, ma vision, ma passion until 28 February, and Natures vivantes, running until 28 March, which ideally closes the winter season with a reflection on the relationship between art and nature.
At the Museum of Archaeology, the exhibition The object of the moment: the lead tablet of Antipolis, myth and reality can be visited until 1 March, offering a fascinating insight into the Roman history of the city. Also until 1 March, 50 nuances de bleu at the Casemate Comte explores the many shades of a colour deeply linked to the Mediterranean.
Theatre accompanies the winter season in Antibes with performances that enliven the evenings. At the Théâtre du Tribunal, Sans se cacher runs until 14 February, while the Antibea Theatre presents Trahisons until 15 February.
Music also plays a key role, through concerts and educational initiatives. The Professors on Stage series at the Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Arts continues until 23 March, showcasing the talent of the teaching staff through performances open to the public.
The heart of the winter programme beats during the Valentine’s Day weekend, on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 February 2026, when Antibes multiplies its cultural and social offerings.
Saturday 14 February begins with a Valentine’s Day guided tour of Villa Eilenroc, a romantic opportunity to discover one of the city’s most evocative landmarks. The day continues at the Peynet Museum and Museum of Humorous Drawing, which celebrates love with a special Valentine’s Day initiative. Also on Saturday, the Albert Camus Media Library hosts the concert Amours et folies by Musica Amata, while the Croix Rouge Space welcomes a participatory Repair Café workshop, dedicated to sharing skills and promoting sustainability.
At the same time, sport takes centre stage: at the Jacques Grima Stadium, the France–Italy women’s field hockey friendly matches run until Sunday 15 February, offering an event with an international dimension.
On Sunday 15 February, city life continues through sport and community events. The Salle du 8 mai hosts the Débarrasse Vinyles, a must for music lovers, while the Salle Saint-Claude stages the women’s N2 handball match between OAJLP and Handball Ajaccio Club.
With this rich and carefully structured programme, Antibes confirms its strong cultural identity even in the colder months. Exhibitions, performances, concerts, sports and participatory initiatives intertwine, inviting everyone to experience the city with curiosity and calm. Each week becomes an opportunity to discover a different side of Antibes, guided by stories, emotions and creativity, where shared memory meets contemporary expression.
