Antibes embraces the early months of 2026 with art, music and memory

A rich winter cultural programme accompanies residents and visitors through the season

As January draws to a close, Antibes continues to experience 2026 through a dynamic cultural lens, offering a varied programme that invites discovery at an unhurried pace. Strolling through the streets of the historic centre means being surrounded by winter lights, the scent of the sea and a timeless atmosphere in which art, music, live performance and tradition come together naturally.

Designed for all ages, the winter calendar unfolds through exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances and cultural encounters, turning each week into an opportunity to explore the city.

Among the highlights of this period, until 25 January, the Salle du 8 mai hosts the 54th edition of the Salon des Artistes Antibois, a long-standing event that celebrates local creativity and remains a key reference point for the city’s artistic scene. At the same time, and running until 31 January, several exhibitions can be visited, including “Past / Present – My Improbable Photographs” by Claude Juan at 19 bis, boulevard Gustave Chancel, as well as the contemporary art exhibitions “Babiole d’Art” at Casemate 19 and “Murmures du Sud” at the Casemate Comte, offering fresh and original perspectives on local artistic production.

The weekend of 24 and 25 January marks one of the liveliest moments of the season. Charlie Winston takes to the stage at Anthéa for two highly anticipated performances, while on Saturday 24 January, music fills several venues across the city with POP CLUB – ARLEEN x NADE at the Ancienne école de la Croix Rouge and Wado performing at Green Musik Antibes. Meanwhile, the Conservatoire of Music and Dramatic Arts continues to host “Les Professors en Scène” until 23 March, a project showcasing the artistic talents of its teaching staff through live performances.

As winter continues, the cultural programme broadens further. Until 7 February, Casemates 25 and 26 present the exhibition “Paradoxes”, an engaging journey through opposing concepts and contrasts. At the Municipal Archives, “Fragments of Antibes”, open until 20 February, explores the city’s history and identity through documents, images and personal testimonies.

Attention then turns to Antibes’ ancient origins. At the Museum of Archaeology, the exhibition “Object of the Moment: the Lead Tablet of Antipolis – Myth and Reality”, on view until 1 March, offers a fascinating insight into the city’s beginnings, blending archaeological research with legend. Meanwhile, the Transartcafé, located at 6 rue du Dr Rostan, continues to welcome visitors with an exhibition running until 28 February, confirming its role as a space for artistic experimentation and cultural exchange.

With this rich and evolving programme, Antibes accompanies the early months of 2026 with an open invitation to discovery and shared experiences. A city to be enjoyed slowly, through exhibitions, concerts and stories of memory, offering residents and visitors alike a winter shaped by culture and togetherness.
