Chess and the Sea: Menton Hosts the 22nd International Open

From October 19 to 26, 2025, the city of Menton will host the 22nd International Chess Open, a not-to-be-missed event for players and enthusiasts alike.

Divided into groups A, B, and C, the tournament will offer nine intense days of competition marked by concentration, respect, and the sporting spirit that defines this event.

The tournament begins on Sunday, October 19, with player registration from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the opening ceremony at 2:15 p.m. and the first round at 2:30 p.m..
The matches will then follow this schedule:

• Monday, October 20 – 2:30 p.m.: Round 2

• Tuesday, October 21 – 2:30 p.m.: Round 3

• Wednesday, October 22 – 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.: Rounds 4 and 5

• Thursday, October 23 – 2:30 p.m.: Round 6

• Friday, October 24 – 2:30 p.m.: Round 7

• Saturday, October 25 – 10:00 a.m.: Round 8

• Sunday, October 26 – 10:00 a.m.: Round 9

The competition will conclude on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. with the award ceremony and the traditional raffle draw, a festive moment that brings together players, families, and fans in a spirit of celebration and camaraderie.
