“Yes Women”: Monaco Gala for AIDS Fight

The Yes Women project, promoted by Fight Aids Monaco and Coalition PLUS, was presented at the Port Palace Hotel in Monaco. Coalition PLUS is an international coalition of community-based AIDS NGOs based in France.

On June 13th, the InterContinental Paris le Grand Hotel will host an exclusive gala evening to benefit Yes Women. This project was primarily conceived by Nicole Dionne.

Nicole, originally from Quebec and residing in Monaco for 10 years, quickly became involved with Fight Aids Monaco, becoming a patron of the association.

The theme of the fight against AIDS is obviously central. Nicole’s husband, Gervais Dionne, is a scientist and co-founder of BioChem Pharma, a Quebec-based company founded in the 1980s that contributed to the creation and marketing of 3TC, a molecule capable of slowing down the replication of HIV. A fundamental discovery for the fight against the disease, still used in many treatments today. In 2022, the HIV epidemic affected 39 million people.

With the support of Princess Stéphanie, president of Fight Aids Monaco, the initiative was launched. Nicole Dionne, a member of the organizing committee of Yes Women, participated in the selection of the 6 women who will be honored during the evening of June 13th.
