The 1st edition of the Coupe Prince Albert II hot air balloon event in the Principality
Will take place between February 1st and April 30th, depending on meteorological conditions. The hot air balloons will depart from Monaco and travel to the Italian Alps.
Organized by the Monaco Aéronauts Club, the Coupe Prince Albert II represents a unique opportunity to highlight an extraordinary sports discipline through an unprecedented event.
It is the first international competition of ecological hot air balloon pursuit, scheduled between February 1st and April 30th (the exact date will be communicated a few days in advance based on the advice of the official meteorologist). Six countries will compete, with ten crews departing from renowned locations in the Principality, subsequently crossing the Italian Alps.
The objective is to reach the hot air balloon with the colors of Monaco that takes off first from the square of the Prince’s Palace. The Prince Albert II Cup, organized by the Monaco Aéronauts Club, adds a touch of innovation to the Monaco sports scene, already known for its wealth and diversity.
This prestigious competition is very different from what the local audience is accustomed to, becoming a must-attend event on the calendar. The Coupe Prince Albert II represents a world first, featuring an international pursuit of ecological hot air balloons, personally supported by H.S.H. Prince Albert II.
The first flight of the PRINCE ALBERT II CUP is expected to take off from the Principality between February and April 2024, with all eyes on the Monegasque aeronauts eagerly awaiting the official announcement of the D-Day, which will be communicated on D-3.
