Menton Music Festival
August 2025
There are few places where the beauty of music blends with the magic of a unique setting. Founded in 1950 by Hungarian performer André Böröcz, the Menton Music Festival welcomes the world’s greatest classical artists every summer in Menton, on the French Riviera.
For about two weeks between July and August, outdoor concerts take place in front of the harbor on the steps of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel. An imposing setting for an exceptional musical program featuring great performers and extraordinary lyrical talents such as Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires, French cellist Gautier Capuçon, and German soprano Diana Damrau.
In recent years, the festival has also gained distinction for featuring lesser-known yet promising artists during musical encounters at the Jean Cocteau Museum. Over the years, the Menton Music Festival has established itself as one of the most important events in the region, both for its high-quality programming and for its exceptional setting.

Lemon Festival
From February 15 to March 2, 2025
The “Fête du Citron®” (Lemon Festival) is a one-of-a-kind event that attracts more than 200,000 visitors every year. For more than 15 days, come and enjoy the Golden Fruit Parades or Night Parades (citrus floats and groups), admire the Citrus Motifs Exhibition in the Biovès gardens; Don’t forget to visit the Craft Fair and the Orchid Festival with unforgettable scents. Come and discover this fantastic world and move to the rhythm of an unforgettable event.
In 1929, Menton was still the leading lemon producer on the continent. A hotelier had the idea to organize a flower and citrus exhibition in the gardens of the Hotel Riviera. The success was such that, the following year, the event moved to the streets: floats with bushes planted with oranges and lemons paraded through the city. The Lemon Festival® was born in 1934.
Les BaroQuiales Festival
In early July, in Sospel, the Les BaroQuiales Festival celebrates baroque art for an entire weekend. A series of concerts and performances animate the historic center, a place rich in baroque buildings, where monuments and palaces come to life through artistic performances. The festival also features original events, parades, and costume processions that traverse the city, culminating in an elegant ball that beautifully closes the event. Les BaroQuiales is an opportunity for conviviality and the discovery of baroque art, open to everyone.

The Feast of Saint Eligio
Every year, in mid-July, Tenda celebrates the Feast of Saint Eligio, a two-and-a-half-day event honoring the local muleteers who once assisted travelers passing through the Tenda Pass. The festival features a rich program of traditional dances, farandoles, and processions that engage the community. On Sunday, a captivating parade of horses and mules decorated with colorful drapes crosses the streets of the village, stopping in front of the collegiate church for the traditional animal blessing.
