Festival Charlot 2026 in Beausoleil: Culture, Music and Activities Across the City

In Beausoleil, culture leaves its usual venues and moves into neighbourhoods, squares and gardens. Until Saturday, September 19, 2026, the city is hosting the Festival Charlot dans et hors les murs, a four-day event designed to bring residents, associations, artists and visitors together through a programme focused on culture, creativity and participation.

The festival was created by Village Charlot to take its activities beyond its usual premises, transforming different areas of Beausoleil into meeting places dedicated to creativity, sharing and discovery. The result is a travelling festival combining workshops, screenings, meetings, concerts, guided tours and performances for audiences of different ages.

Festival Charlot in Beausoleil: Thursday, September 17 Programme

Today, Thursday, September 17, the heart of the festival will be Village Charlot, where the day will begin at 9am with a welcome coffee and a speech by the Mayor.

From 9:45am, the programme will continue with a meeting between residents and partners, followed by round-table discussions focusing on topics connected with community life, including culture, food, digital technology and social connections.

At 12:30pm, participants will gather for a shared lunch at Les Petites Cantines. In the afternoon, from 2:30pm to 4pm, Micro-Folie will host a screening of the documentary F.L.I., followed by a discussion and debate.

The programme will then move to Jardin du Ténao, where from 4:30pm to 6:30pm the Charlobus will offer a creative workshop dedicated to decorating small flower pots.

Friday, September 18: Moneghetti, Cinema and Outdoor Entertainment

On Friday, September 18, the Festival Charlot will move to the Moneghetti neighbourhood. From 4pm to 7pm, the Charlobus will be stationed at the Victor Hugo car park, offering activities and a workshop focused on making seed bombs, combining creativity with an exploration of nature.

In the evening, the programme will return to Village Charlot. From 7pm to 8:30pm, Micro-Folie will screen the short films Cour d’école and films produced during the last three editions of Parcour(t)s ta Ville, highlighting creative projects developed within the local community.

At 7pm, Les Petites Cantines will also host an end-of-day gathering.

Cinema will then move outdoors: at 8:30pm, Jardin des Cultures will host a screening of Marsupilami, directed by Philippe Lacheau.

Saturday, September 19: The Festival Charlot Finale

Saturday, September 19 will bring the festival’s most extensive programme, with events taking place at Marché Eiffel, Village Charlot and the city’s gardens.

At Marché Eiffel, from 9am to 11am, visitors will find the Charlobus and a “story suitcase”, accompanied by a travelling performance featuring stilt walkers, dancers, acrobats and fire performers.

At Village Charlot, a guided tour will take place at 10am, with registration required. At 11am, the Mayor’s speech will be followed by the unveiling of a mural created collectively by the FabLab together with artist Tracemat.

At 11:30am, the book by Cyril Maguy, created together with local residents, will be presented, followed by a concert.

The lunchtime programme will begin at 12:30pm. Until 2pm, the Jardins will host a picnic-style lunch with a buffet prepared by Les Petites Cantines and travelling artistic performances.

Workshops, Tours and Performances Throughout the Afternoon

The Saturday programme will continue at 2pm with a waiters’ race, followed by a series of activities focused on discovery and creativity.

Visitors will be able to join guided tours of Village Charlot, take part in a robotics workshop at the FabLab and enjoy activities organised by the Médiathèque Jeunesse.

From 4:30pm to 6pm, Jardin des Cultures will also host the performance La Belle Étoile, adding a theatrical and artistic dimension to the programme.

Throughout Saturday, Micro-Folie will offer continuous screenings of short films created by children from Beausoleil schools as part of the Cour d’école and Parcour(t)s ta ville projects. It will be an opportunity to showcase the creativity of younger generations and see the city through their eyes.

The Charlobus, the Travelling Symbol of the Festival

One of the distinctive features of the Festival Charlot dans et hors les murs is the Charlobus, a travelling cultural space designed to bring activities and creative resources directly to different neighbourhoods of Beausoleil.

Throughout the festival, the project brings together a wide range of activities, from a recording studio to a library, from a games library to Micro-Folie, alongside creative workshops, concerts, exhibitions, tastings, film screenings and round-table discussions.

Rather than being concentrated in a single venue, the festival creates a network of locations and activities across the city. This approach allows Village Charlot to meet audiences directly in their neighbourhoods and transform everyday urban spaces into places for culture, creativity and participation.
