The upcoming weekend will mark the fourth and final weekend of the Festival Printemps des Arts.

On Thursday, April 4th, organist (and improviser) Karol Mossakowski will open the last weekend of Printemps des Arts with an organ recital focused on the theme of light. The program will range from the impetuous and passionate “Prélude et Fugue en sol mineur” to the dreamlike “Clair de lune” by Louis Vierne, from the sparkling “Litanie” by Jehan Alain to the mystical pages of Messiaen (“Messe de la Pentecôte”, “Livre du Saint-Sacrement”). This will be followed by the “After” event at the Opera, during which the audience will have the opportunity to meet and converse with organist Mossakowski.

On Friday, April 5th, Armenian pianist Varduhi Yeritsyan will offer a recital entirely dedicated to Schumann. The program will include the dances of “Papillons”, the “Forest Scenes”, the “Theme with Variations on the name Abegg” and “Carnaval”.

Saturday, April 6th, will begin with a “candlelit concert” at the picturesque Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, followed by the evening concert of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo at the Auditorium Rainier III, conducted by Kazuki Yamada. The program will include works by Rudi Stephan and Gustav Mahler, with the participation of solo violinist David Lefèvre and soloists Marie-Nicol, Lemieux, and Pene Pati.

Sunday morning, April 7th, the “musical walk” at the New National Museum of Monaco will be accompanied by the exhibition of Bolognese artist Pier Paolo Calzolari and nine world premieres commissioned by the festival to composers Lara Morciano, Samir Amarouch, and Eric Monatalbetti. In the afternoon, at the Cathedral of Monaco, the Ensemble Clément Janequin & Les Sacqueboutiers will perform Pierre de La Rue’s masterpiece, “Requiem”, specializing in the repertoire of ancient music. The day will conclude with a concert at the Opera Theatre of Monaco, featuring Cecilia Bartoli and John Malkovich, engaged in a program centered around the figure of Nicola Porpora and his students, the castrati Farinelli and Caffarelli.
