Sport – “Tour de France in Monaco”

Sunday, 21 July 2024, Principality of Monaco

Final stage of the Tour de France 2024 between Monaco and Nice. Motor sports fans will be familiar with the first few corners of this time trial in the streets of the Principality, with the riders set to follow the same route as the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Once past the Rock, they will then make their way up to La Turbie before clearing another pass, the Col d’Eze, in the last difficult section of this year’s Tour. Finally, they will have to nimbly negotiate the descent towards Nice on their way to the finish line on the Promenade des Anglais, completing what promises to be a spectacular 111th Tour de France.

Photo Exhibition – “Monaco et le Tour de France”

Until Saturday, August 31, 2024, fences of the Saint-Martin and Sainte Barbe Gardens To be discovered until August 31 on the fences of the Saint-Martin Gardens (between the Monaco Aquarium and the Monaco Cathedral): 19 photographs measuring 1×1.5 meters that trace the various passages of the Grande Boucle in Monaco (images from the archives of Presse Sports – owned by Amaury Sport Organisation, organizer of the Tour de France – and from the Directorate of the Principality Government Communication). An exhibition revealing the strong bond the Principality has with the Tour for 85 years, having hosted it 11 times since 1952 and being a stage city 6 times.


Exhibition – “Turner: the Sublime Legacy”

From Saturday, July 6, to Sunday, September 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Grimaldi Forum Monaco This exhibition, featuring a collection of major works in a new scenography, will take visitors on a journey through Joseph Mallord William Turner’s sublime representations of our world, from his landscapes to the elemental explorations of light and atmosphere that he pioneered and mastered. Turner’s decisive influence on painting, and consequently his legacy, will be highlighted in the exhibition through interpretations of the sublime by important contemporary artists. Curator: Elizabeth Brooke, Senior Project Curator at Tate.

Exhibition – “Ingeborg zu Schleswig-Holstein: And There Was Light”

From Wednesday, July 3, to Friday, July 26, 2024, at Moretti Fine Art During Monaco Art Week, Moretti Fine Art in collaboration with Julian Solms presents a dialogue between the incandescent and chromatically charged abstract compositions of Ingeborg zu Schleswig-Holstein and the gold-backed works of the masters Simone dei Crocifissi, Barnaba da Modena, and Arrigo di Niccolò. A portion of the proceeds from this exhibition will be donated to the global AMADE association, under the patronage of H.S.H. the Princess of Hanover.

The collective exhibition CONCRETE BEACHES, ARTIFICIAL LANDSCAPES builds around a hypothetical, abstract, metaphysical, uncertain scenario. Environment – “Monaco Zero Cigarette Butts”

Several “MégotBox” (collection and recycling stations for cigarette butts) are located in front of certain municipal sites: the Monaco Town Hall, the Higher School of Plastic Arts – Pavillon Bosio, the Rainier III Nautical Stadium, the Léo Ferré Space, the Condamine Market, the Monte-Carlo Market, among others. This initiative aims to protect the environment.

Exhibition – “The Ice Giants”

From Wednesday, April 10 to Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Musée Océanographique de Monaco, polar bears and emperor penguins take center stage in “The Ice Giants,” a new exhibition by Michel Bassompierre. Seven monumental works will be installed in the Oceanographic Museum and on its panoramic terrace. Five of these are new creations: four polar bears and one three-meter-tall emperor penguin. Also on display will be original drawings and sketches, accompanied by a film showcasing the artist’s work. This temporary exhibition is part of the Polar Mission organized by the Oceanographic Institute since 2022.

Exhibition – “Lascaux in Monaco”

From Friday, April 19 to Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Musée d’Anthropologie Préhistorique, an original scenography organized around facsimiles and an immersive Virtual Reality experience thanks to #SPL LASCAUX, exclusive thanks to the Museum’s Partners. Original objects from the Lascaux cave exhibited on loan from the National Museum of Prehistory (Les Eyzies, Dordogne) and the Institute of Human Paleontology (Paris) and also… Hyper-realistic reconstructions of 5 Cro-Magnon created by Elisabeth Daynes, a 1/10 scale model of the Lascaux cave with prehistoric paintings and lighting, and interactive tables and low-tech manipulatives.

The Cabinet of Wonders – ‘The Early Years of Télé Monte-Carlo, 1954-1974’ – An exhibition exploring the first 20 years of Monaco’s television channel launched in 1954. A selection of archives and objects will take you back in time to the very early days of color television. Organized by the Monaco Audiovisual Institute, the exhibition features items entrusted by Télé Monte-Carlo for preservation, documents from partner institutions, and materials kindly provided by private individuals.”

Exhibition – “Pasolini in Chiaroscuro”

Fifty years after his death, his influence continues to be felt in the various fields in which he worked: he is read, commented upon, adapted, and inspires contemporary creative artists. While he preferred to define himself as a writer, it was his films that brought him to the public’s attention. The exhibition explores his inspirations and his legacy.

Exhibition – “The Prince and the Mediterranean”

From December 6, 2023, at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco As part of the celebrations for the centenary of Prince Ranier III (1923-2023), the Oceanographic Museum presents the new permanent exhibition titled “The Prince and the Mediterranean.” Through this exhibition, the Oceanographic Institute pays homage to the unwavering bond between Prince Ranier III and the Ocean, particularly the Mediterranean. Visitors are invited aboard his boat Deo Juvante II. Guided by the voice of H.S.H.
