Gérald Dahan Unmasks (One-man show)

The French need to laugh more than ever, and that’s exactly what they need!

One of the world’s most famous impersonators takes you live on stage to relive some of his pranks. How could you forget the French national team, led by Zidane, singing the Marseillaise with hands on their hearts on the orders of the fake Jacques Chirac! A piano and voice show where the public’s number one impostor presents his cult sketches and surprisingly realistic impersonations of Timsit, Palmade, Luchini, Bacri, Sarkozy, Hollande, and Macron. It’s also an opportunity to take a closer look at Vianney, Stromae, and Gims, and to hear the favorite standards of French chanson that the artist pays tribute to: Aznavour, Gainsbourg, Johnny, Nougaro, and Brel. MAF Photo Exhibition: They Are.

The 2023 program of the Galerie d’art contemporain concludes with a photo exhibition on the work of photographer Maf in a retirement home and in a institute and service for the employment of disabled adults.

Discover the committed perspective of a photographer on humanity, the perspective of these men and women on themselves after several months of work at Foyer de la Madeleine in Nice in 2021 and then at ESATITUDE in Menton in 2023.

Exhibition: I Stay with You

On the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the death of Jean Cocteau, the museum that he himself conceived as a testimony to his art is returning to its historical setting.

Jean Cocteau died on October 11, 1963, leaving behind a work as rich as it is incredibly varied. The question of his posterity and the future of his art was one of the artist’s main concerns in his last years of life, and Menton provided the solution by offering him the Bastion to set up his museum. In this showcase, decorated by Cocteau himself, he wanted to exhibit some of the most emblematic works of his dazzling career: colorful pastels, monumental tapestries, surprising paintings, and bold ceramics make up the original collection of this true testament museum… Not to mention the famous series of “Lovers,” drawings that perfectly embody the artist’s Mediterranean inspiration. Sixty years after the death of the Prince of Poets, the Musée Jean Cocteau-le Bastion has returned to exhibit its historical work, paying a vibrant tribute to its guardian artist, taking to heart the words he wanted engraved on his tombstone: “Je reste avec vous” (“I stay with you”).
