The sixth edition of the Week of Design & Arts will take place from April 12th to April 21st, 2024, at Port Vauban, in the heart of the historic center of Antibes, under a shared marquee with the modern and contemporary art fair Antibes Art Fair.
Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the work and world of each artist: furniture, tableware, jewelry, wall pieces, curious and collectible objects; each creator will unveil unique and rare pieces made in their own workshop, where their know-how is guaranteed and maintains a high standard of quality.
In 2016, the city of Antibes Juan-les-Pins received the prestigious label “Ville et Métiers d’Art”, emphasizing the importance of arts and crafts as a response to current trends in consumption patterns.
Today, the public seeks more personalized choices, and craftsmanship meets these expectations, offering unique or limited edition pieces that reflect values of quality, sustainability, respect, and environmental responsibility, far from standardized products.
Materials like wood, metal, terracotta, silk, glass, and paper are skillfully manipulated by these creators, each with their own unique vision.
The exhibition, which spans over a thousand square meters, features about forty French and foreign designers and artists, who have imagined everyday objects available at a wide range of prices, thus supporting craftsmanship.
This year, the guest country of honor is Lebanon, rich and vibrant, offering a spring event centered on the Mediterranean, a crossroads between East and West. Beirut is experiencing a period of great artistic fervor, and design is an integral part of this effervescence.
Four designers – Huda Baroudi & Maria Hibri from the Bokja studio, and Rami Boushdid & Elie Bassil from the Caramel studio – will present their universes through creations of furniture and artisanal accessories.
Bokja, socially committed, collaborates with local artisans and organizes charity events to support education and other social causes.
The Caramel studio will present “Hob,” a cart inspired by the rich Lebanese culture, embodying the love and hospitality of the country.
The Week of Design & Arts offers a quality, tailor-made, demanding, and accessible program, ideal for professionals and art and design enthusiasts, with the opportunity to discover authentic gems and participate in lively exchanges and conferences.
A unique opportunity to meet exhibitors, participate in art workshops, and fully experience the creativity of Antibes Juan-les-Pins.
