On July 11, 2025, the Embassy of the Principality of Monaco in Germany hosted a reception in honor of the 20th anniversary of the accession of H.S.H. Prince Albert II at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Berlin.
H.E. Mr. Lorenzo RAVANO welcomed over 200 guests, including representatives from the German Federal Foreign Office, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps, key figures from the economic, financial and cultural sectors, friends of the Principality, as well as Monaco’s Honorary Consuls in Hamburg, Potsdam, and Warsaw.
The presidents and about thirty members of the German International Club of Monaco were also in attendance.

In his speech, H.E. Mr. RAVANO highlighted key events from recent months, such as the inauguration of Mareterra, the State Visit of the French President, and the organization of the Blue Economy and Finance Forum last June.
He then paid tribute to the work carried out by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince since His accession, particularly in favor of the planet and the oceans. The Ambassador emphasized Monaco’s active participation in international bodies and highlighted its “soft power”, demonstrated this year in Davos, at the World Expo in Osaka, and in the sports world.

Reaffirming the importance of the ties between Monaco and Germany and the vitality of the German community in the Principality, the Ambassador announced the planned opening in 2026 of a Monaco-themed area at Europa-Park, Germany’s top tourist destination.

Ambassador Catalina CULLAS, responsible for relations with EU member states and cross-border and regional cooperation at the Federal Foreign Office, praised the excellent economic relations, shared values, and mutual respect between the two countries.
She also commended the Sovereign Prince’s commitment, recognized in recent years by several German institutions, including the German Ocean Award (2016), Taurus European Culture Prize (2018), German Press Freedom Prize (2020), and the German Sustainability Award (2022) — honors that reflect deep appreciation for His personal engagement and the work of His Foundation.
