The Information Point “Via Iulia Augusta” and the Civic Archaeological Museum “Girolamo Rossi,” in collaboration with the Municipality of Ventimiglia, are once again organizing a series of events and in-depth explorations following the traces of the ancient Roman road. These events will offer opportunities to discover archaeological sites, museums, remains of the Augustan road, and other connected routes, while also appreciating the natural and human-shaped landscape in which they are set.
The first event is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, titled “On the WAY to Villa Durazzo Pallavicini in Genoa Pegli”, featuring a visit to the exhibition “Reading the Figured Vases – Discoveries in the Pre-Roman Necropolis of Genoa” at the Ligurian Archaeology Museum, housed in the Durazzo Pallavicini Palace. The visit will also include its gardens, renowned for their splendid camellia blossoms, among the most significant and complete in Europe.
The trip will be by train, departing from Ventimiglia at 7:57 AM (Regional Fast Train No. 3361) and returning from Pegli at 5:35 PM. Reservation is required by March 29 at the MAR.
