Back from the World Winter Games in Turin, the athletes of Special Olympics Monaco, accompanied by their coaches, were welcomed this Wednesday at the Minister of State’s Residence by Isabelle BERRO-AMADEÏ, Government Counsellor-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and acting Minister of State.
The Minister congratulated all members of the delegation:
“You did much more than participate in a sporting competition. You upheld the values of courage, perseverance, and team spirit. You showed that determination knows no limits, and that heart and passion can move mountains. On the slopes, in every effort, and through every smile, you demonstrated the true meaning of inclusion, inner strength, and the joy of sport.”
Isabelle BERRO-AMADEÏ also praised the dedicated work and unwavering commitment of the staff and volunteers of Special Olympics Monaco, including its President Pierre VAN KLAVEREN and Director Marc MURATORI.
It’s worth noting that Special Olympics Monaco brought back 12 medals from Turin, including 2 gold, and represented the Principality in three disciplines: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
The next major event for the athletes will be the Summer World Games in Chile in 2027.
