Last Thursday, at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, the official hotel of the tournament, David Massey, director of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, presented the main details of the upcoming edition.

The tournament will take place from April 5 to 13, 2025, on the prestigious clay courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club, under the presidency of Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy. Organized by the Société Monégasque pour l’Exploitation du Tournoi de Tennis, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters is the first European tournament of the ATP Masters 1000 category. Like the Formula 1 Grand Prix or the Monaco Yacht Show, the entire country will live to the rhythm of the tournament for one week, marking the start of the season in the Principality.

After briefly revisiting the 2024 edition, which saw the return to the top of Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, David Massey announced that the 118th edition would begin with the draw, which will take place at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort on Friday, April 4 at 5:00 PM, an event that will be broadcast live on Monaco Info.

An exceptional event that will attract a large audience

Although the final list of the 45 qualified players will not be made public until March 11, 2025, the official registration deadline, the tournament director is very optimistic about the participation level for this edition. Every year, the tournament achieves extraordinary success. In the 2024 edition, over 148,000 spectators attended the event in person, while more than 36 million people followed the tournament on TV, with over 9,000 hours of broadcast in 185 markets. Additionally, the 2024 edition had immense visibility on social media, with over 240 million views.

Monte-Carlo Beach Club reserved for players

To provide the best conditions for participants, the tournament management announced the privatization of the prestigious Monte-Carlo Beach Club, which will become the “Players’ Village.” This exclusive space will be fully reserved for players, their staff, and families, ensuring a unique living environment. With a spectacular sea view, high-quality catering services, and a relaxing atmosphere, the “Players’ Village” represents another evolution of the tournament experience. Massey commented, “We wanted to enhance the players’ experience by expanding the site by 35%, to offer them optimal and as attractive a space as possible. This significant change is part of a long-term vision for future editions of the tournament.” He added, “We haven’t forgotten the fans. With the increased capacity, we expect to enhance the number of buses and trains available, to ensure their maximum comfort. We are also renewing the Click & Collect service and adding new services on-site.”

New features for the 118th edition

Court No. 2 will be renamed the Elizabeth-Ann de Massy Court in honor of the woman who greatly contributed to the development of tennis in the Principality. This court will become the third main court of the tournament and will host four matches a day from April 5 to 10, offering an additional stage for the major clashes of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters. Massey encouraged tennis fans to book their seats on the official website www.rolexmontecarlomasters.mc.

Opening of ticket sales

Yesterday, Monday, February 10, ticket sales for the Elizabeth-Ann de Massy Court opened.

Technological progress in officiating

An important technological innovation will be introduced in the 2025 edition: for the first time, the Hawk-Eye system and Video Review will be used during the tournament to resolve disputes over questionable balls and allow referees and players to review decisions in real-time, ensuring transparency and fairness.

Partnerships

David Massey also thanked the tournament partners, starting with the main sponsor, Rolex. In anticipation of the 2025 edition, the tournament has extended its partnerships with BNP Paribas, Replay, Malongo, Onet, Lancaster, Valmora, and Monaco Telecom. The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters will also welcome a new partner, luxury eyewear brand Oliver Peoples.

Renewed charitable commitment

After recalling that, in collaboration with BNP Paribas, the tournament raised 37,204 euros last year for GEMLUC through the “Points for Change” initiative, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters reaffirmed its social commitment. Massey announced the return of two unmissable events: the Children’s Day, scheduled for Sunday, April 6, and the prestigious Grand Tennis Night, which has been held since 1992 in the legendary Salle des Étoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo.
