On April 4, 2025, a delegation from the Italian Anti-Mafia Directorate (D.I.A.) visited the Principality to finalize Monaco’s accession to the “@ON” project, a European initiative for transnational cooperation aimed at combating mafia-style organized crime and cross-border criminal networks.
Launched in 2018 and coordinated by Europol and Eurojust, the @ON project allows law enforcement agencies of member states to share strategic information, coordinate operational actions, and quickly deploy specialized investigators in the field.
The signing of this agreement between the D.I.A. and the Directorate of Public Security, represented respectively by Army Corps General Michele CARBONE and Director Eric ARELLA, took place at the premises of the Monegasque police in the presence of Their Excellencies Mrs. Anne EASTWOOD, Monaco’s Ambassador to Italy, and Mrs. Manuela RUOSI, Italy’s Ambassador to Monaco.
Monaco’s accession to this project demonstrates its commitment to actively contributing to the fight against organized crime by strengthening the investigative capabilities of its enforcement agencies through a new strategic and operational tool.
