Presentation of the comic book “Auguste Escoffier – Maître de la Cuisine Moderne”

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the new work by writer and storyteller Yvon Bertorello, who will introduce the comic book “Auguste Escoffier – Maître de la Cuisine Moderne”.

The work narrates in visual and storytelling form the life and legacy of Escoffier, a figure who revolutionized international cuisine by codifying the foundations of modern haute gastronomy. The comic book makes the story of a chef who transformed cooking into a globally recognized art form accessible to a wider audience.

The historical link between Escoffier and Monaco

The choice of Monaco as the venue is not accidental. It was in the Principality that Auguste Escoffier, born in 1846 in Villeneuve-Loubet, passed away in 1935. Considered an “enfant du pays,” his influence has spanned generations of chefs and culinary professionals.

His legacy remains central to contemporary gastronomy, making him one of the most important figures in international culinary culture.

Culture, memory, and storytelling: the value of the initiative

The event represents much more than a simple book presentation. It is a moment of encounter between culture and memory, where comic storytelling becomes a tool to transmit history and identity.

The OdP-TRIF association thus continues its work of enhancing the cross-border territory, promoting events that bring together different disciplines and diverse audiences.
