The Elsa and Réséda Towers, two major operations of the National Plan for Monaco Residents’ Housing, have been completed. The imposing crane, measuring 127.9 meters and essential for the construction of these two high-rise buildings, will be dismantled between March 11 and March 22, 2024. This crane, currently the tallest in use in the Principality, is anchored to the facade of the Réséda tower at three different levels, with anchors positioned at levels R+14, R+24, and R+29. Dismantling such equipment requires a special setup, including the installation of a telescoping cage that will allow the crane to “self-dismantle,” and the use of mobile cranes from Boulevard d’Italie. These operations will require the total or partial closure of Boulevard d’Italie, in front of the Réséda Tower. They will be carried out at night to minimize the impact on traffic and to maintain a safety perimeter, following the phased schedule below:

  • Nights from March 12 to March 14, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Boulevard d’Italie will be closed to traffic in the direction Monaco => Roquebrune-Cap-Martin / Menton; vehicles will be diverted through Avenue de Saint Roman and Boulevard du Ténao to continue in that direction.
  • Nights from March 14 to March 15 and from March 18 to March 21, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Boulevard d’Italie will be closed in both directions; vehicles will be diverted through Avenue Saint Roman and Boulevard du Ténao, accessible in both directions to continue their route.
  • Night from March 21 to March 22, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Boulevard d’Italie will be closed to traffic in the direction Monaco => Menton; vehicles will be diverted through Avenue de Saint Roman and Boulevard du Ténao to continue in that direction.

These exceptional operations may cause disruptions, especially noise, due to the dismantling of metal parts and their removal by semi-trailer trucks. As a precaution, a safety perimeter will be established, and personnel will be present on-site. Pedestrians are advised to avoid the area. Residents are required to keep their windows closed and refrain from using their balconies on the crane side during the dismantling process.
