The Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology of Monaco invites the public to an extraordinary afternoon with the special event “Discovering Prehistory”, scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This event offers an immersive and privileged experience at the heart of scientific research and the museum’s new exhibitions.

Participants will have the opportunity to access areas normally closed to the public through a guided tour of the new exhibits and the research laboratory. This exclusive path will allow visitors to see how researchers work and which tools are used to reconstruct prehistoric human life.

The afternoon will be enriched by a hands-on fire-making workshop, inspired by techniques used in prehistoric times. An interactive and engaging activity combining scientific education and practical experimentation, allowing participants to step into the shoes of our ancestors and rediscover key gestures in human history.

The initiative is part of the Mon Week-end aux Musées program and is officially recognized by Mon Carnet Musées Côte d’Azur, highlighting the cultural and educational value of the event in the regional museum landscape.

A unique opportunity for children and adults alike to explore Prehistory in an interactive way, experiencing the museum not just as a display space, but as a living center of knowledge and discovery.
