Thursday, April 11th, representing the Government Counselor-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mrs. Marie-Catherine CARUSO-RAVERA, Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, received, during a lunch organized at the Hotel Hermitage, H.E. Mrs. Christina KOKKINAKIS, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the European Union, H.E. Mr. Yunus DEMİRER, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Mr. Stephan STEINLEIN, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, and H.E. Mr. Alberto di LUCA, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. These diplomats presented their Letters of Credence to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.
Mrs. Christina KOKKINAKIS, who holds a master’s degree in international relations and philosophy from the University of Vienna, began her career in the Austrian diplomatic service in 1995, holding various positions, especially in multilateral diplomacy and within the European External Action Service (EEAS). Since 2023, she has served as the Permanent Representative of the European Union to UNESCO and the OECD, as well as to the Principality of Andorra and Monaco.
Mr. Yunus DEMİRER, who graduated in political science from Ankara University in 1995, started his diplomatic career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey in 1989. He held various diplomatic positions within the Ministry in Ankara and abroad, including in Baghdad, at NATO, in Bucharest, Washington, Beirut, and Strasbourg. He served as Ambassador to Iraq and Saudi Arabia. In 2018, he was appointed Director-General for the Middle East and North Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in 2021, he became Turkey’s Ambassador to Slovakia. Since September 15th, 2023, he has been the Ambassador of Turkey to France.
Mr. Stephan STEINLEIN, who graduated in Political Science in 1979, attended the German diplomatic training from 1991 to 1993 and held various positions within the German Foreign Ministry before becoming Director in the Federal Chancellery in 2003. His career led him to become State Secretary at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin, and State Secretary, Head of the Federal Presidency, as well as Diplomatic Advisor to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva. Since August 2023, he has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to France and Monaco.
Mr. Alberto di LUCA, who graduated in Political Science in 1979, began his career in the private sector before becoming a Member of the Chamber of Deputies in Rome from 1994 to 2006. On the diplomatic front, he was appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Republic of Serbia from 2010 to 2023, and he is currently the Permanent Representative of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (P.A.M.).
