In 2025, the Académie Princesse Grace celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, reaffirming itself as one of the world’s most prestigious dance schools. Established in 1975 at the initiative of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III, the Academy was entrusted to Marika Besobrasova, who transformed it into an international benchmark.

Excellence in Training

Starting on 8 September 2025, 53 students aged 13 to 18, representing 19 nationalities, will resume classes. The four-to-five-year training program combines classical, contemporary, and character dance with courses in composition, music, physical preparation, and dance history, alongside distance academic education.

The permanent faculty includes Lisa Jones, Carsten Jung, Thierry Sette, Roland Vogel, Olivier Lucea, and Gioia Masala, with academic supervision by Valérie Projetti. The curriculum is further enriched by workshops and masterclasses with renowned teachers and choreographers such as Yannick Boquin, Goyo Montero, Yoko Ichino, Grigory Chicherin, and many more.

A Year of Celebrations

To mark this anniversary, the Academy presents a calendar filled with highlights:

  • 19 December 2025 – celebratory performance at the Salle Prince Pierre of the Grimaldi Forum, featuring works created in recent years by leading international choreographers.

  • 26–28 March 2026 – participation in the Imprévus at the Atelier des Ballets de Monte-Carlo, in collaboration with the Pavillon Bosio, where young choreographers and set designers will work together on the theme of education.

  • 19–20 June 2026 – annual gala at the Salle Garnier of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, with guest choreographers reinterpreting the ballet classic Giselle.

Young Artists on the World Stage

The Academy’s excellence is reflected in the international achievements of its students. In 2024, five graduates joined prestigious companies such as Ballett Dortmund, the Birmingham Royal Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet, the Semperoper Ballett Dresden, and the Ballet de l’Opéra National de Paris.

With a curriculum that blends tradition and innovation, the Académie Princesse Grace carries forward the vision of its founders: training outstanding dancers ready to shine on stages worldwide.
