The Principality is set to host one of the most important events dedicated to environmental sustainability: the Green Shift Festival 2026. The fourth edition will take place from April 9 to 11 at the Yacht Club of Monaco, offering three days of free events, talks and activities open to the public.

Organized by the Prince Albert II Foundation, the festival serves as a key platform for dialogue between institutions, businesses and citizens on global environmental challenges and innovative solutions for building more sustainable cities.

The Municipality of Monaco at the Green Shift Festival

The Municipality of Monaco will be among the key players of the 2026 edition as an official partner. The local authority will actively contribute to discussions on ecological transition and urban quality of life through several key moments.

On Friday, April 10, Marjorie Crovetto, Deputy Mayor in charge of Quality of Life, Environment and Sustainable Development, will speak during the themed Happy Hour “Our territories tomorrow – Living in the city and the world differently,” presenting the municipality’s main sustainability initiatives.

Featured sustainability projects

Several concrete initiatives already implemented in the Principality will be highlighted, including:

  • Mùnegu Repair Café, along with Mùnegu Repair Branché and Mùnegu Repair Bicicleta, promoting reuse and repair
  • The Municipal Braderie, encouraging reuse and waste reduction
  • Plant donation initiatives, supporting urban greening
  • World Clean Up Day, a global environmental cleanup event

Special focus will also be given to the anti-food waste project “La Petite Boîte,” which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026, confirming its importance in the circular economy.

Workshops and activities: focus on sustainable mobility

On Saturday, April 11, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the Municipality will host a hands-on bicycle repair workshop at Quai Louis II, in collaboration with Decathlon Monaco.

As part of the festival’s sports and environment day, the initiative aims to raise awareness about sustainable mobility and equipment maintenance. Participants will benefit from:

  • basic technical diagnostics
  • adjustments and minor repairs
  • chain lubrication
  • inner tube and tire replacement

Participants are required to bring their own materials for repairs.
