The Principality of Monaco is preparing for the summer season with a targeted redevelopment of Larvotto Beach. From April 7 to 24, 2026, a beach reprofiling operation will take place, led by the Government, with the aim of ensuring greater safety and improved comfort for residents and visitors.

During the works, a temporary ban on swimming and diving will be enforced in the two Larvotto bays. The restriction will not apply to state divers, technical vessels involved in the works, or organized sports activities carried out by schools or associations.

To minimize disruption to local businesses, particularly restaurants and beach facilities, work will be carried out in two daily time slots: 7:30 am–12:00 pm and 2:00 pm–6:30 pm. The beach will remain partially accessible, with progressive reopening of areas as the works advance.

Special care will be taken to protect the marine environment. Two anti-turbidity barriers will be installed to limit sediment dispersion and safeguard the ecosystem, especially the Larvotto Marine Reserve, one of the most sensitive natural habitats along Monaco’s coastline.

Authorities also remind that a swimming ban is already in place in the western area of the beach due to ongoing works involving the removal of geotubes and the construction of eco-designed rocky islets. This project is expected to be completed by the end of April 2026, finalizing the coastal redevelopment.

With these measures, Monaco aims to present Larvotto Beach in optimal condition for summer 2026, offering a safer, more modern, and environmentally sustainable seaside experience.
