The new badge of the Corps of Firefighters of Monaco, chosen and officially unveiled by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the celebration of Saint Barbara on December 4, 2022, was formally presented to the Corps’ personnel on Monday, May 19. The ceremony took place in the courtyard of the La Condamine fire station, under the authority of the Chief of Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Maxime Yvrard.

When the Corps was founded in 1909 by Prince Albert I, no badge had been instituted. The first was worn on the occasion of the Accession of Prince Rainier III in 1949. A second badge, still in use today, was introduced in 1958 by sovereign decision. Although designed for the Monaco Fire Brigade, it closely resembled the insignia used by French firefighters.

On the occasion of the centenary of the death of Prince Albert I in 2022, the Corps took this symbolic opportunity to renew its badge. The aim was to reaffirm its historical and identity-based roots by providing its members with a distinctive and meaningful emblem.

This new badge is intended to reflect a centuries-old heritage while embodying the unwavering commitment of the Monaco Fire Brigade in service to the Principality and the values it upholds.
