The Monaco Fire Brigade received an official visit on Wednesday, April 30, from Colonel Nicolas Rynine, Commander of the Civil Security Instruction and Intervention Unit No. 7 (UIISC 7), based in Brignoles.
Lieutenant-Colonel Maxime Yvrard, Commander of the Corps, presented the standard and reviewed the Fire Guard. Colonel Nicolas Rynine then discovered the Corps’ organization and its special equipment.
The visit continued with the Changing of the Guard at Palace Square, followed by a lunch at the fire station. Presentations of the Event Management and Rescue Operations Command Center (CGECOS) and ongoing projects concluded the visit.
A souvenir exchange and the signing of the “Golden Book” preceded a meeting between the two commanders, focused on strengthening ties between their respective units.

The mission of the UIISC is to reinforce emergency response resources in France and to provide the State’s initial response abroad in the event of a natural disaster or industrial accident.
It intervenes in emergencies alongside firefighters and security forces, while remaining ready to be deployed internationally upon request.
It also conducts extensive training programs for both the military and firefighters, in France and internationally.
It maintains a structured partnership with the Monaco Fire Brigade, based on an agreement aimed at strengthening professional, historical, and friendly ties between the two units through technical exchanges, joint training (rescue, fire, technological risks, drones, hazardous environments), joint exercises, and documentation sharing.
UIISC 7 also helps cover major events in Monaco, such as the Grand Prix.
Finally, the Franco-Monegasque agreement of May 21, 2004 allows Monaco firefighters to participate in French international missions, as was the case after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan in 2011.
Its motto: “Serve to Save.”
