“I’ll never adapt it for cinema,” said David Cronenberg about his novel Consumed, “because I don’t want to betray my book. It would be too self-destructive.”
Adapting, then, is betrayal.
But isn’t it more like translating?
In fact, moving from the written word to the screen transforms the reader into a viewer, leading them to experience characters without their inner voice in the distinct rhythm of cinema.

L’Artistique returns with the restoration of the Ferrero Donation Collection and invites Jean Mas for a temporary exhibition.
In 1986, Jean Ferrero invited Jean Mas to exhibit under the title “The Cubing of the Nice School,” to “cube” various artists from the Nice School. The following year, Jean Mas created 19 wooden cubes measuring 20x20x20 cm. The exhibition took place with a limited edition booklet, and Jean Ferrero, as often happened, decided to keep all these pieces, which later became part of his donation to the City of Nice in 2014.
