Charity – “ROKETHON 2024”

Saturday, October 5, 2024, Chapiteau de Fontvieille
Rokethon Monaco is a race for dog owners and their canine companions, aimed at encouraging pet adoption and responsible ownership. The nonprofit association Rokethon’ operates in Monaco and surrounding areas to promote respect and care for pets by running or supporting projects to improve their conditions, training, health, life, and, above all, their adoption. Participants will walk or run a 1,200-meter marked course around the Chapiteau de Fontvieille, accompanied by their dogs.

Organized by Monaco’s Department of Culture, the Des Ateliers aux Ateliers exhibition is an unprecedented journey into 20th-century art history through more than 150 photographs by Michel SIMA. The exhibition builds a bridge between the world of modern art and the life of contemporary creation, with the project held near the “Ateliers du Quai,” an international artist residence recalling Monaco’s rich artistic history.

Exhibition – “Miquel Barceló, Oceanographer”

From Friday, June 7 to Sunday, October 13, 2024, Nouveau Musée National de Monaco – Villa Paloma
With a selection of about sixty works (paintings, ceramics, embroideries, works on paper), this exhibition offers the opportunity to discover the prolific and eclectic creations of Miquel Barceló, a Spanish artist whose favourite subject was the sea.

Environment – “Monaco Zero Cigarette Butts”

Several MégotBox (stations for the collection and recycling of cigarette butts) are placed in front of certain municipal sites: Monaco City Hall, Higher School of Fine Arts – Pavilion Bosio, Rainier III Academy, José Notari Videotheque-Fonotheque, Louis Notari Library, Rainier III Nautical Stadium, Léo Ferré Space, Condamine Market, Monte-Carlo Market. This initiative aims to protect the environment.

Exhibition – “The Ice Giants”

From Wednesday, April 10 to Sunday, October 6, 2024, Oceanographic Museum of Monaco
Polar bears and emperor penguins are the main stars of The Ice Giants, a new exhibition by Michel Bassompierre. Seven monumental works will be installed in the Oceanographic Museum and on its panoramic terrace. Five of them will be new creations: four polar bears and a three-meter-tall emperor penguin. Drawings and original sketches will also be on display, accompanied by a film showcasing the artist’s work. This temporary exhibition is part of the Polar Mission organized by the Oceanographic Institute since 2022.

Exhibition – “Lascaux à Monaco”

From Friday, April 19 to Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology
An original scenography organized around facsimiles and an immersive Virtual Reality experience thanks to #SPL LASCAUX, exclusively presented by the Museum’s Partners. Original objects from the Lascaux cave are on loan from the National Museum of Prehistory (Les Eyzies, Dordogne) and the Human Paleontology Institute (Paris). Also… Hyper-realistic reconstructions of 5 Cro-Magnons made by Elisabeth Daynes, a 1/10 scale model of the Lascaux cave with prehistoric paintings and lighting, interactive tables, and low-tech devices.


Event – “150th Anniversary of the Hôtel de Paris Wine Cellars”

This year, the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer celebrates the 150th anniversary of the famous Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo Wine Cellars! The Cabinet of Wonders – ‘The Early Years of Télé Monte-Carlo, 1954-1974’ – An exhibition that explores the first 20 years of Monaco’s TV channel, launched in 1954. A selection of archives and objects will take you back in time, to the early days of colour television. Organized by the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco, the exhibition presents objects entrusted by Télé Monte-Carlo for preservation, documents from partner institutions, and materials kindly lent by private individuals.

Exhibition – “The Prince and the Mediterranean”

On the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Prince Rainier III (1923-2023), the Oceanographic Museum presents the new permanent exhibition titled The Prince and the Mediterranean. Through this exhibition, the Oceanographic Institute pays tribute to the unbreakable bond that united Prince Rainier III to the ocean, and in particular, to the Mediterranean. Visitors are invited to board his boat, Deo Juvante II. Guided by the voice of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, they will explore four intimate spaces, each revealing different facets of this Prince, passionate about the Mare Nostrum.
