H.E. Mr. Frédéric LABARRERE, Ambassador of Monaco to Belgium, was presented with the symbolic flag of the Association of European Capitals and Cities of Sport (ACES) on Thursday, December 12 in Brussels. This organization, recognized by the European Commission and an official partner of UNESCO, awarded this emblem to Monaco during the annual gala held at the European Parliament.
After Sofia (Bulgaria) in 2024, the Principality of Monaco has been designated World Capital of Sport 2025.
This label recognizes the proactive sports policy of the Princely Government in the development and promotion of sport. This policy is championed by H.S.H. Prince Albert II, who has always affirmed his commitment to sport as a tool for peace and development.
The Princely Government encourages sport in schools, promoting education through physical activity. It also promotes well-being through sports practice by offering public facilities accessible to all, and finally, it encourages the spirit of competition by supporting top-level athletes and hosting international sporting events.
