The Department of Cultural Affairs welcomed, on Tuesday, December 3, the new resident artists at Les Ateliers du Quai – International Artists Residency.
Among them, Laëtitia KY is a creator who advocates for the emancipation of women in Ivory Coast through her hair sculptures and paintings.
Abhijit PATHAK, a painter, explores cultural heritage and historical narratives through large-scale abstract creations.
Four young talents, post-graduate students from Pavillon Bosio – Monaco’s School of Fine Arts, share a studio.
Maria Magdalena DAVID and Ilona ROUGEMOND have joined Ahmad RESHAD and Gabriel-Noé ROSTICHER, who have been settled there for a few months.
In addition to continuing their personal work, all four are working on scenographic projects, particularly with Pavillon Monaco in preparation for the World Expo in Osaka, 2025.
Collaborative projects are encouraged throughout the residency and generate inspiring synergies for both the artists and the institutions of the Principality.
Les Ateliers du Quai are awarded by the Department of Cultural Affairs following a call for applications and host local and international artists for six months to a year, for the realization of an artistic project.
