Pier Paolo Calzolari is known for the formal originality of his multidisciplinary practice (painting, sculpture, as well as performances understood as “acts of passion”), which often relies on the use of organic materials such as tobacco leaves, fire, or frost to create “installation works” that challenge the boundaries of contemporary art. A retrospective exhibition, “Ideal House,” is a rare opportunity to discover the world of an artist who has left a mark on the history of art through his often unconventional approach to various plastic arts practices.
