EXHIBITION: DJAMEL TATAH

From March 16 to May 27, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed on Tuesdays.

From March to May 2024, painter Djamel Tatah (born in Saint-Chamond in 1959

) will offer a new visit to the Musée Matisse in Nice.

He has subjectively selected from the museum’s collections about a hundred graphic and sculptural works by Henri Matisse (1869-1954), covering his entire career, supplemented by exceptional loans from the Institut national d’histoire de l’art (INHA). The exhibition will alternate with about thirty personal paintings, generally of monumental dimensions, selected from his production over the past twenty years and coming from public and private collections.

EXHIBITION: HENRI DAUMAN – THE MANHATTAN DARKROOM

This retrospective of the unpublished work of French photographer Henri Dauman marks the final collaboration with the photographer, who died on September 13, 2023, in New York.

Nearly 170 photographs accompany the public on a journey through the recent history of the United States.

EXHIBITION: MARTINE DOYTIER, A RETROSPECTIVE

From February 3 to July 31, 2024. Closed on Mondays and Sundays.

This exhibition is the first retrospective dedicated to Martine Doytier. It brings together all of her known works up to now.

Martine Doytier was an artist in Nice from 1971 to 1984. Over thirteen years, she developed captivating work.

Her sharp eye and ability to depict characters and tell their stories produced a corpus of works in continuous evolution and led her to undertake what would be her last unfinished work: “Self-portrait,” a painting she worked on for five years that passionately describes her daily world.

EXHIBITION: TINTIN AND TCHANG

The Musée Hergé in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium) joins forces with the Alpes-Maritimes Department to present a double exhibition entitled Tintin, Hergé, and Chang.

The exhibition reveals the multiple facets of the father of Tintin through a superb selection of precious documents, original drawings, and objects, presented for the first time on the French Riviera.

EXHIBITION – LIVING FOR ART – THE TRACHEL AND ROTHSCHILD COLLECTIONS IN NICE

From November 24, 2023, to April 28, 2024, every day. The Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules Chéret, the Palais Lascaris, the Musée Masséna, and the Bibliothèque de Cessole present the exhibition Living for art.

The Trachel and Rothschild collections in Nice. The exhibition highlights the works generously donated to the city of Nice by these two great families. These donations, made between 1892 and 1912, include over seventeen hundred works of various types: archaeological objects, drawings, watercolors, paintings, sculptures, prints, but also furniture, ceramics, and textiles. They constitute the core of Nice’s museum collections.

LES ELLES DE JEUX

The Musée National du Sport presents Les Elles des Jeux, which shows the spectacular progress made in over 130 years, from the almost exclusion of women to the struggle for equality.

THE EXHIBITION PATH

In an immersive and interactive setting, the Les Elles des Jeux exhibition retraces over 130 years of our contemporary society through the stories of emblematic women with exemplary destinies. The exhibition is divided into 6 sections, both chronological and thematic. With “Elles ne sont pas les bienvenues,” the exhibition begins its journey through time with the first Olympic Games of the modern era.
