Santa Devota 2024: Practical information for Friday, January 26, 2024.
In the context of the organization of the celebrations of Santa Devota, on Friday, January 26, 2024, various organizational and security measures have been implemented regarding car circulation and public access to ceremony areas (Procession Quai des États-Unis/road to the pool – Ceremony Place Sainte Devote – Ignition of the boat on Quai Albert Ier).
➢ Public Access
Security checkpoints, with visual checks of bags and containers, and a “public” zone will be established from 5:30 PM:
- on Place Sainte Devote for those wishing to witness the procession and the Blessing of the Most Holy Sacrament.
- on the north part of Quai Albert Ier for those wishing to witness the ignition of the boat.
➢ Station Access
Attention is drawn to railway station travelers about the closure, starting at 5:30 PM, of pedestrian traffic in Vallon Sainte Devote. The Sainte Devote stairs will also be closed from 5:30 PM. Users are invited to use the Sainte Devote gallery to reach or leave the station from or to rue Grimaldi.
➢ Practical Traffic Arrangements
From 6:15 PM to 7:00 PM, the road to the pool will be closed between Avenue J.F. Kennedy and the Jules SOCCAL pontoon. Between 6:45 PM and 7:45 PM, occasional traffic interruptions will occur on Boulevard Albert Ier, Avenue JF Kennedy, and Avenue d’Ostende to facilitate the proper progress of the event.
➢ Transport and Parking Arrangements
Disruptions are expected in urban transport (lines 1, 2, and 6) and interurban transport (ZOU lines No. 607 and No. 80) during the mentioned traffic interruptions. Regarding public parking (access/diversion), information will be provided to users (notices posted on the access columns to the parks) by the relevant service.
The Administration urges users to take the necessary precautions, thanks them for their understanding, and apologizes for any inconvenience.
