Christmas in Monte-Carlo brings together festive traditions, elegance and entertainment in a unique setting overlooking the Mediterranean. For the 2026 festive season, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer will once again transform its famous Resort with spectacular decorations, illuminated installations, family-friendly activities, gourmet experiences and exclusive events for Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

From the giant Christmas tree in Place du Casino to the festive chalets on Avenue de Monte-Carlo, as well as luxury hotels, restaurants and renowned nightlife venues, the programme offers countless ways to enjoy the magic of the season. The celebrations will officially begin on the evening of 29 November 2026, with the traditional Christmas lights switch-on ceremony in Place du Casino.

The Monte-Carlo Express: Christmas magic in Place du Casino

The heart of the festive celebrations will be Place du Casino, where the Monte-Carlo Express will make its appearance. This spectacular Christmas train will invite visitors of all ages on an imaginary journey into Santa Claus’s enchanting world.

Each carriage will tell a different part of the Christmas story. In the first, Santa Claus will read the thousands of letters he has received from around the world, surrounded by woodland animals. The second will reveal Santa’s gift workshop, filled with toys and presents ready for delivery. The final carriage will feature a heartwarming scene in which Santa, having completed his mission, sits down to enjoy Christmas Eve dinner with his faithful companions.

The installation will be part of the festive season from 30 November 2026 to 10 January 2027, becoming one of the highlights for families visiting Monte-Carlo and anyone wishing to experience its Christmas atmosphere.

Nearby, the traditional 20-metre Christmas tree will tower over the square. Its official lighting ceremony is scheduled for 29 November at 6 pm.

A spectacular light show at the Casino de Monte-Carlo

The façade of the Casino de Monte-Carlo will become the backdrop for a colourful audiovisual show, combining music, light and spectacular projections to celebrate the festive season.

The show is scheduled every 30 minutes from 6 pm to midnight on 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 December 2026, and then from 18 December 2026 to 10 January 2027.

Music will also play an important role in the celebrations. The traditional Christmas choir will perform in Place du Casino on 19, 20, 23, 24 and 26 December, from 1 pm to 4.30 pm. Children will also have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus on 20, 21, 24 and 25 December, from 1 pm to 5 pm.
