The Challenge Trail 06 returns this year, bringing joy and challenges to enthusiasts who, in increasing numbers, embrace this discipline. This practice not only provides an opportunity to compete with oneself but also to explore and appreciate a territory of extraordinary beauty, not only along the coast.

The seventeenth edition of the Challenge Trail 06 will pass through various municipalities in the Alpes-Maritimes Department, offering accessible routes since 2012.

From this initiative emerged the “Trail pour tous” association, which continues to see a constant increase in its members.

The 2024 edition of the Challenge Trail 06 will kick off in Biot on March 10 with the BioTrail and will conclude on November 24 in Levens.

During these 8 months, there will be new events scheduled in Villars-sur-Var, Isola, and Biot. While traditional races return to Saint-Jeannet or Valdeblore, the big classics like Trail des Balcons d’Azur in Mandelieu, Valberg Trail, Gorbio Trail, and the legendary Ultra-Trail Côte d’Azur Mercantour in Saint-Martin-Vésubie are confirmed.

The new schedule offers a variety of options, allowing trail enthusiasts of all levels to participate in competitions, thanks to the “Trail court” (10 to 20 km) and “Trail” (21 km and above) categories.

Participants can also earn bonus points by participating in the Vertical Kilometer in Isola (August 17, 2024) or volunteering in one of the events. The Challenge Trail 06 promotes inclusivity and teamwork with accessible routes for handi-trail, supported by the “Trail pour tous” association.

To preserve the competition venues, the Alpes-Maritimes Department will ensure that trail organizers adopt an eco-responsible approach, limiting the impact of races on the environment. A “bio package” will be introduced, including a reusable signaling system, monitoring compliance with the “Le trail, ma Nature” guidelines, and supporting initiatives dedicated to sustainable mobility and outdoor activities such as hiking.
