The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco offers 3 workshop sessions for children during the exhibition “Pier Paolo Calzolari – Casa ideale.” For the first time, the museum and the Rencontres Philosophiques Monaco join forces and provide two 2-day workshops “Art & Philosophy” for children to combine artistic and philosophical reflection.
• Art & Philosophy 2-day Workshop
Monday, February 26, and Tuesday, February 27, or Wednesday, February 28, and Thursday, February 29
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Ages 8 – 12
Offered by the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco and Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco.
For two afternoons, children will explore the works of Pier Paolo Calzolari with Coline Matarazzo, cultural coordinator, and then discuss philosophical questions raised on the themes of Dream and Time with Alicia Polzella Gauduel, practicing philosopher, and philosophy workshop facilitator.
• Salted Paintings 4-day Workshop
Monday, March 4, to Thursday, March 7
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The artists of Arte Povera created numerous works using simple materials such as plants, fabrics, or stones. Pier Paolo Calzolari, on the other hand, works with materials like lead, batting, and salt. During this workshop, children will explore the exhibition’s works and experiment with the reactions between painting and salt to observe their effects, creating a nocturnal landscape with the guidance of Sharon Jones, cultural coordinator of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco – Villa Paloma, 56, boulevard du Jardin Exotique, Monaco.
