Starting 2026 with a stay in Monte-Carlo means immersing yourself in an elegant and vibrant atmosphere, where winter becomes the perfect time to discover the Principality’s cultural, creative and dynamic side. Between events concentrated in a single weekend and long-running exhibitions, the city offers a rich and varied calendar designed to appeal to every kind of visitor.
Saturday 28 February promises to be particularly lively.
Sports fans will be able to attend the Ligue 1 McDonald’s Matchday 24 clash between AS Monaco and Angers SCO, held at the Fontvieille stadium—an unmissable fixture that attracts supporters from across the region.
At the same time, the city comes alive with a wide range of cultural and leisure activities:
the Atelier de Magie, on Boulevard du Jardin Exotique, offers a captivating immersion into the art of illusion;
Rando SPI, organised at Église Saint-Nicolas, combines outdoor activity with a strong sense of community;
lovers of dance and Latin rhythms can enjoy Fiesta Latina à Monaco by Hamidine at the Société Nautique de Monaco, while the Argentine Tango Course provides a welcoming opportunity to learn and socialise.
Until the end of February, the prestigious Place du Casino also hosts Pelléas et Mélisande by Claude Debussy, one of the most anticipated operatic events of the season, adding an exceptional artistic experience to any stay.
Alongside the weekend events, Monte-Carlo presents several exhibitions running into the coming months.
Until 15 April 2026, the Monaco Monte-Carlo SNCF railway station hosts a temporary exhibition that interacts with its unique setting, while during the same period the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology presents Magies d’ailleurs, exploring rituals, cultures and imagination.
The dialogue between art and nature continues until 25 May 2026 at the New National Museum of Monaco – Villa Paloma, with the exhibition The Feeling of Nature, inviting visitors to reflect on the deep connection between landscape and artistic creation.
The Principality’s cultural season continues with longer-term initiatives.
The exhibition Gifts, Symbols and Fruits of the Spirit runs until 30 June 2026, as do the Argentine tango classes held at the Reformed Church of Monaco.
Until March, visitors can also enjoy the Heritage at Risk photography competition for young people and the ice rink, which closes at the beginning of the month.
Among the most ambitious projects is From Toumaï to Sapiens, open until 16 October 2026 at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology, offering a fascinating journey through the origins of humanity. This is complemented by initiatives such as Mediterranean 2050, encouraging reflection on the future of the Mediterranean and the major environmental challenges ahead.
This first weekend of 2026 confirms Monte-Carlo as a destination where culture, sport and entertainment come together in perfect harmony. More than a place to visit, it is a place to be fully experienced—where every event tells a story of elegance, openness and passion, making every stay memorable in any season.
