Monte-Carlo: a winter weekend of art, culture and sport

Starting 2026 with a weekend in Monte-Carlo means immersing yourself in the refined atmosphere of the Principality, where even winter becomes an opportunity for discovery. With a rich programme of cultural, sporting and artistic events, the city once again confirms its international spirit and its ability to offer experiences for every kind of visitor.

The weekend comes to life on Saturday, 21 February 2026, a particularly eventful day. Sports enthusiasts can follow the 16th EFB volleyball matchday, featuring AS Monaco against Mulhouse Alsace at the Stade des Moneghetti. At the same time, in the heart of the Condamine district, Place d’Armes hosts a convivial and tasty event, “Tiramisu: demonstration and tasting”, celebrating culinary tradition and social enjoyment.

The cultural programme continues with special attention to families. Along the Promenade Honoré II, the Ciné Famille – Stop Motion Special presents the screening of Sauvages (2024) by Claude Barras. On the same day, in rue Louis Notari, The Voice of the Amazon invites audiences to reflect on the relationship between humanity and nature through music and storytelling, offering a powerful perspective on major environmental issues.

From Sunday, 22 February to 28 February 2026, the prestigious setting of Place du Casino becomes the stage for Claude Debussy’s opera Pelléas et Mélisande, one of the most anticipated operatic events of the season, attracting music lovers from across Europe and enriching any stay with an outstanding artistic experience.

Beyond the events concentrated over the weekend, Monte-Carlo offers a cultural calendar that extends throughout the season. Until 27 February 2026, visitors can take part in the Club Oceano – Discovery Course on the Ocean along Avenue Saint-Martin, as well as educational workshops for young audiences linked to the theme “The Feeling of Nature. Contemporary Art in Dialogue with Poussin” at Boulevard du Jardin Exotique.

The dialogue between art and nature continues with the exhibition “The Feeling of Nature”, open until 25 May 2026 at Villa Paloma, while a journey into human origins is offered by the exhibition “From Toumaï to Sapiens”, on view until 16 October 2026 at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology.

The Principality’s cultural season is further enriched by long-term initiatives such as the exhibition “Gifts, Symbols and Fruits of the Mind”, open until 30 June 2026, the Heritage at Risk photography competition for young people, running until 15 March 2026, and the 103rd lecture season, scheduled through to June. Leisure opportunities also include the ice rink, open until 1 March, and a programme of chamber music concerts continuing throughout 2026.

Completing the cultural landscape are large-scale exhibition projects such as Mediterranean 2050, which invite reflection on the future of the Mediterranean region and the major environmental challenges facing the world.

This first weekend of 2026 thus confirms Monte-Carlo as a destination that harmoniously combines culture, sport and entertainment. It is not merely a place to visit, but a place to be fully experienced, where each event tells a story of elegance, passion and cultural openness, making every stay memorable in any season.
