The Princely Government continues its support for shops and restaurants with the Carlo application.

On March 28th, the Princely Government and the company Carlo welcomed the partner merchants of the application at MonacoTech. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the very positive results achieved by this system since its launch in December 2020, the continuation of the Government’s support in covering platform fees, and the evolution of the sponsorship program. Indeed, the system is experiencing great success, and the application, which generated over a million purchases in 2023, now has 653 partner businesses and 65,000 users, of which approximately 60% are residents of neighboring municipalities and/or commuters. In light of these results, and with a continued commitment to supporting local commerce, the Government has decided to extend its coverage of platform fees until March 31st, 2025. This decision allows partner merchants to avoid increasing their contribution to costs, which has been at 1% since April 1st, 2023. To ensure the sustainability of this virtuous economic circle, Carlo is evolving the sponsorship program by offering €5 cashback for each new sponsored user and organizing occasional offers to reward the commitment of “sponsors.” The old sponsorship system will end on March 31st, 2024, without removing the cashback generated up to that date. The Government is pleased with this collaboration with Carlo and the partner merchants, which contributes to the economic dynamism of the Principality.
