After the celebrations for Prince Albert II’s 20 years of reign, the Principality of Monaco is preparing to mark another special milestone: the 40th anniversary of the Louis II Stadium. To honor the occasion, the stadium’s management has organized a three-part commemorative program, culminating in an extraordinary event on Thursday, July 24.

Following the tribute to the builders of this architectural marvel and the exhibition “Il était une première fois”, the third and final event invites the public to rediscover the stadium in an entirely new light. For the first time ever, the Louis II will be transformed into an open-air cinema—a unique experience that combines sports and culture under Monaco’s starry sky.

At 8:30 p.m., the sci-fi film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, directed by Luc Besson, will be screened on the new giant screen set up on the field. With popcorn and deckchairs spread across the grass, guests will enjoy a magical evening in one of Fontvieille’s most iconic landmarks.

The gates will open at 7:00 p.m., but seating is limited. Spectators must collect their invitation in advance at the Louis II Stadium Management Office, open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

An unmissable opportunity to share an unforgettable evening and celebrate a place that, for four decades, has been at the heart of Monaco’s sporting and cultural life.
