On Saturday, June 7, 2025, the Terrain Boulard in Menton will become the heart of a meeting between nature and tradition, hosting “Un samedi à la Campagne”, a day dedicated to environmental discovery and awareness.
From 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, the event will offer a wide range of activities focused on biodiversity and local products. Among the highlights, participants will join Jessica Gigandet of Gorbiologique for a workshop on making infusions with local plants and attend a conference followed by a tasting of edible flowers with Eve Vernice, an expert producer in the field.
Music by Yann Soccoia, playing his distinctive barrel organ, will accompany guests throughout the day, adding a magical touch to the event. At noon, the traditional picnic will give everyone a chance to share a meal together, with a reminder to bring their own water bottles to reduce plastic use.
The afternoon will be dedicated to history and creativity: Stéphane Constantin from the Association for the Promotion of Menton Lemon will give a lecture on the evolution of this iconic fruit from the 17th century to today. This will be followed by a workshop on making face balm with edible flowers and a seed-planting session with the Grainothèque.
The day will conclude at 4:30 PM with an afternoon snack and the chance for the public to participate in choosing a new name for the Terrain Boulard, creating a moment of direct and creative involvement.
Throughout the event, attendees can visit a pedagogical farm with various animals, explore stands dedicated to biodiversity and citrus cultivation, and let children enjoy environmentally themed games. To facilitate access, a free shuttle bus will run from Parking de la Place d’Armes, with services from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and return trips between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM.
“Un samedi à la Campagne” is a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature and celebrate the richness of the land, through tradition, music, and sustainability.
