Next Friday at 5 PM, Sanremo will host a moment of great prestige with the official visit of Prince Albert II of Monaco for the opening of the fourth edition of “Stile Artigiano è di Moda – Sartorial Fashion Festival”, running until 14 September at the Municipal Casino.
The opening ceremony, held in the Casino’s Private Room, will inaugurate the exhibition “In segno di servizio”, dedicated to the uniforms and bespoke garments of Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Curated by art historian Federica Flore in collaboration with the Palais Princier de Monaco, the exhibition will be open free of charge from 6 to 14 September, daily from 10 AM to 12 AM.
Next to it, in the Privatissima Room, visitors can admire the “Stile Artigiano è di Moda” exhibition, showcasing local sartorial creations and artisanal works, also with free access. The festival, organized by Confartigianato Imperia and the Sanremo Casino in collaboration with Confartigianato Moda, Confartigianato Piemonte, and Fondazione Stefano Zecchi, with the support of Regione Liguria, Camera di Commercio Riviere di Liguria, and E20, offers a rich calendar of events combining tradition and innovation.
On Saturday 6 September at 4:30 PM, the Casino Theatre will host the conference “Artisan Intelligence and Creativity in the Age of AI”, coordinated by journalist Beppe Convertini, with the participation of Professor Stefano Zecchi, Luca Litrico (Sartoria Litrico), and Moreno Vignolini, President of Confartigianato Moda. This will be followed by the presentation of the competition creations and the selection of finalists for the 2025 Sustainable High Fashion Festival Award. The day will culminate at 9 PM with the fashion show on the Casino staircase, an evening of elegance featuring runway shows interspersed with musical and choreographic moments.
Organizers and institutions emphasized the event’s value as a tool to promote Made in Italy and sartorial craftsmanship. Mayor Alessandro Mager and Tourism Councillor Alessandro Sindoni highlighted how the festival represents “an opportunity to rediscover the culture of craftsmanship and environmental awareness through the use of sustainable materials.” For the Vice President of Regione Liguria, Alessandro Piana, the event celebrates “the excellence and invaluable worth of our sartorial craftsmanship,” while Regional Councillor Luca Lombardi called it “an important identity lever for tourism promotion.” Donatella Vivaldi, President of Confartigianato Imperia, added: “Stile Artigiano è di Moda is a stage where tradition meets the future, offering our region visibility and real growth opportunities.”
Following last year’s tribute to Princess Grace, this edition celebrates Prince Rainier III, reaffirming the historic and cultural link between Sanremo and the Principality of Monaco. As noted by Giuseppe Di Meco and Sonia Balestra, Casino President and Councillor respectively, the event “transforms the Casino into a hub for High Fashion, showcasing not only the aesthetic but also the economic, social, and cultural dimensions of craftsmanship.”
The exhibition is part of the project “Local Supply Chain: Together for a Sustainable Future”, promoting zero-kilometre productions and the use of local raw materials, including complementary gastronomic initiatives. With the arrival of Prince Albert II and a rich calendar of events, Sanremo confirms once again its status as a capital of Italian elegance and artisanal creativity.
