Sanremo Festival 2025: Everything You Need to Know About the 75th Edition

As the 75th edition of the Festival di Sanremo approaches, the anticipation is sky-high. The official announcement of the contestants by Carlo Conti, made during the traditional Sunday appointment with Tg1, has finally revealed the list of artists who will take the stage at the Ariston. However, this edition will not only be a return to a long-standing tradition but also feature many exciting innovations that will make the Festival even more thrilling and surprising.

A New Host and a Revamped Format

Carlo Conti, after taking over from Amadeus, will be the new host of the Festival di Sanremo 2025. With his extensive experience, Conti will bring a new breath of fresh air while carrying on the legacy of an edition that saw Amadeus become a true symbol of the Festival.

One of the most significant changes this year is the return of the Nuove Proposte section, which had been absent since 2021. Four young talents will compete in a separate competition, selected through a contest that concluded in December. Additionally, the beloved DopoFestival, a staple of the show, will be hosted by Alessandro Cattelan, who will be joined by Selvaggia Lucarelli and Giulia De Lellis.

Guests and Co-hosts

The Festival’s guests are always a major draw, and this year will be no exception. The public can look forward to the presence of big names from both Italian and international music. Among the first confirmed are Jovanotti and Damiano David of Måneskin, but the full list is still being finalized, with some surprises in store.

The co-hosts have also been revealed. Carlo Conti will be joined by twelve prominent names who will contribute throughout the various evenings. Each night will feature a different group of co-hosts, including Antonella Clerici, Gerry Scotti, Bianca Balti, Alessia Marcuzzi, and many more.

Dates and Rules

The Festival di Sanremo 2025 will take place from February 11 to 15, 2025, with five evenings filled with music and entertainment. Each night, the 30 artists in competition will perform, with special attention given to the cover night on Friday, where all participants will perform together, but the votes will not affect the final ranking.

First Night (Tuesday, February 11, 2025)

• 30 artists will perform their songs, and they will be voted by the Press Room, TV, and Web Jury.
• A ranking will be established based on this voting, and the top 5 will be announced, without a specific order.

Second Night (Wednesday, February 12, 2025)

• 15 artists will perform their songs, and voting will be conducted by the public via televote and the Radio Jury.
• The top 5 will be announced, again without a specific order.

Third Night (Thursday, February 13, 2025)

• The remaining 15 artists will perform their songs, with voting by the public and Radio Jury.
• The top 5 will be announced, without specific ranking.

Fourth Night (Friday, February 14, 2025)

• Each artist will perform a cover song from the Italian or international repertoire, and they will be joined by guest artists.
• The audience, Press Room, and Radio Jury will vote, and the winner of the cover night will be announced.

Fifth Night (Final Night, Saturday, February 15, 2025)

• All 30 artists will perform again, and voting will be conducted by the public, Press Room, TV, and Web Jury, and the Radio Jury.
• The result will be combined with the previous evenings’ votes, and the top 5 will perform their songs again.
• A final vote will determine the winner, crowned as the Festival di Sanremo 2025 Champion.

Contestants

The list of artists for the 75th edition of Sanremo is finally official. Among the many and diverse names, we have Achille Lauro, Elodie, Francesco Gabbani, Noemi, Rkomi, Fedez, Irama, and many more. This year, unlike previous editions, the young artists will compete separately in the Nuove Proposte category.

Duets and the Cover Night

The cover night is always one of the most awaited moments of the Festival, and this year will be no different. Artists will perform in duets, such as Achille Lauro with Elodie (“A mano a mano” by Riccardo Cocciante), and Francesca Michielin with Rkomi (“La nuova stella di Broadway” by Cesare Cremonini). Some duets will also involve non-competing artists, like Tony Effe with Noemi or Emis Killa with Lazza.
