The Musée at Villa Massena in Nice celebrates, until March 3, 2024, the “King of Pop Culture”. The Battles of Flowers and Illuminated Floats return, and Nice vibrates to the rhythm of the festivities. On this occasion, Villa Massena organizes an extraordinary exhibition titled “La Pop’expo, de l’atelier au défilé,” tracing the history of the Carnival from its creation in 1873 to the present day.

The exhibition offers a true immersion into the world of pop culture, with floats and costumes inspired by this theme, as well as original creations featuring characters from movies, TV series, comics, and video games. Villa Massena will be transformed to tell, in a playful and educational manner, the history of the Carnival and highlight the work of artisans and creators contributing to this global event.

This intergenerational exhibition is a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of the production of the Nice Carnival and discover the know-how of all the artisans involved in its realization.

The villa offers a comprehensive program of exhibitions, conferences, and debates telling the history of the Nice territory through its collections, from the 19th century to the present day, including the Belle Époque.
