The 2024 bathing season is about to begin and the Princely Government asserts, once again, its commitment to ensuring the quality and safety of the beaches, as evidenced by the compliance declaration based on the previous year’s results and displayed at each bathing site. The bathing season is a highly anticipated period, offering everyone the chance to enjoy sea baths. To this end, and to ensure an optimal environment for all, leveling works have been carried out on Larvotto Beach. To ensure the sanitary quality of bathing waters, the Environmental Department conducts weekly sampling and analysis, the results of which are displayed every week at the Larvotto police station and at each site for easy access by all users.
The Monégasque Sanitation Company will continue to work from 8 am to 6 pm every day to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the beaches, on land and at sea. As every year, the “Monaco Zero Butts” campaign, led by the Monaco Town Hall, the Monégasque Sanitation Company, and the Tourism and Convention Bureau, will raise awareness among residents and tourists about environmental pollution, particularly from cigarette butts. In response to the challenges posed by jellyfish every summer, the Maritime Affairs Directorate will install a jellyfish net from June 1, 2024, enhancing safety for all swimmers. In a spirit of awareness and education, the Environmental Department is pleased to present the “Guide for Responsible and Safe Swimming in the Principality.” This document aims to promote good bathing practices, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. We invite residents and visitors to enjoy the beaches and facilities of the Principality, while respecting safety and cleanliness guidelines. Summer 2024 promises to be an exceptional season, where relaxation and environmental responsibility come together for everyone’s enjoyment.
