The Franco-Monegasque day care center for child psychiatry received a visit from Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène, in the presence of Christophe ROBINO, Government Counsellor-Minister of Social Affairs and Health, Céline CARON-DAGIONI, Government Counsellor – Minister of Equipment, Environment and Urbanism, Gérard SPINELLI, Mayor of Beausoleil, Romain ALEXANDRE, Departmental Director of the Regional Health Agency Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (ARS Paca) as well as a delegation from the Lenval Foundation composed notably of its President, Mr. Jean-François COMAS, and its General Director, Mr. Ronan DUBOIS (*).
As a reminder, this 650 m² building, located at 46 avenue du Professeur Langevin in the Municipality of Beausoleil, has been completely renovated to offer comprehensive outpatient care during the day for children and adolescents with severe disorders of the autistic spectrum, development, and personality, up to the age of 18.
The Princely Couple was able to meet and exchange with the staff present on site who presented them with the functioning of the establishment, which notably provides for multidisciplinary care allowing specialists to take a different look at the child concerned and enrich their evaluation.
The capacity is 35 places, of which 17 are reserved for children residing or enrolled in school in the Principality. Children and adolescents residing or enrolled in school in the Principality with these disorders can be accommodated in this new facility exclusively on referral from a child psychiatrist at the Plati Center in Monaco, a Medical-Psychological Center for Children and Adolescents under the authority of the Health Action Directorate (DASA).
Christophe Robino emphasizes that “this day hospital is the result of close collaboration between the Principality Government and the Government of the French Republic as well as the services of the Municipality of Beausoleil and the Lenval Foundation. The commitment to the well-being and development of every child is at the heart of this initiative. In order to provide a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic environment where every child can thrive in collaboration with experts and programs tailored to each individual. The goal is to work alongside families to provide holistic and sustainable local support to these children in need.“
