Following the announcement of the impossibility for high school students to return to the former Collège Charles III building due to the encroachment of works required to reinforce the retaining wall, the Government recalls that the start of the school term will take place remotely on January 5 at 2:00 p.m.
In order to resume in-person classes as soon as possible, new reception sites have already been identified and will be made available once their development is completed.
Thus, a school environment concentrated around the Promenade Honoré II has been defined through the use of rooms made available at Collège Charles III and Lycée Rainier III, as well as the construction of temporary buildings providing 22 additional classrooms at the Pasteur block.
Furthermore, in order to free up time slots to accommodate these high school students within Lycée Rainier III, classes for higher education students will be temporarily relocated to rooms vacated by ISM in the “Ruscino” building located at Quai Antoine Ier. These premises will also host essential non-teaching services for high school students (guidance counselors, psychologists, social worker, library, parent reception areas, etc.).
The date for the resumption of all classes at these sites will be communicated shortly, noting that from the week of January 5, certain physical education and sports classes will already take place in person, under conditions that will be specified to students and their parents by the Department of National Education, Youth and Sports.
