The Principality of Monaco is preparing with spiritual fervor for the arrival of Pope Leo XIV. Ahead of the upcoming apostolic visit, the local Church has released an official prayer, inviting the faithful to experience this event as an opportunity for renewal of faith and ecclesial communion.
The prayer spiritually supports the Catholic community of the Principality, emphasizing the importance of the Pope’s mission: to strengthen God’s people in faith and preserve the unity of the universal Church. The initiative represents a significant moment for local ecclesial life, an occasion to reinforce the bond with the Successor of the Apostle Peter and with the entire Christian community.
In the prayer text, the faithful are invited to welcome and bear daily witness to “the beauty and truth of the Gospel”, renewing their missionary commitment and showing mercy to the most vulnerable. The prayer, disseminated by Archbishop Dominique-Marie David, is recited during Masses in all parishes until March 27.
Furthermore, on Thursday, March 12 at 6:30 PM, at the Cathedral of Monaco, a preparatory Mass will be celebrated by the Archbishop, offering the faithful a communal moment of prayer in anticipation of the meeting with the Pope.
The visit of Pope Leo XIV thus represents for Monaco an opportunity for profound spiritual renewal and a witness of the Gospel for the entire Catholic community of the Principality.
